At RoyaltyChi Chihuahuas our litters are planned years in advance.
We aim to produce the best of the best and we do this by deciding which bitches and dogs to mate together after intricate and extensive research into the backgrounds of the mating pair and their genetic make-up.
Our long term goal is to ultimately produce the perfect Chihuahua and we do this by ensuring all RoyaltyChi matings are bred to improve the breed and follow the standards as closely as possible.

    • Whats different about RoyaltyChi Chihuahuas?
     We have extensively researched the backgrounds of each of our dogs to ensure we are producing the best of the best especially in regards to health. We go to extreme lengths to make sure our puppies are free of genetic disorders and are an all round healthy puppy.
    Before the puppy is given to the new owners, the puppy is also thoroughly examined by a veterinarian.
    Note: For our puppy owners we are contactable 24 hours a day to help answer any queries or questions for the lifetime of the Chihuahua.

    Why do you show your Chihuahuas?
    Showing dogs is about breeding the best Chihuahua possible. At a dog show the judge will select the best specimen of the breed, and all dogs are rated in order of the best on the day. Dog shows are important to dog breeders as this is a place were their dogs can be judged on how they compare to other breeders dogs, and how well they measure up to the standard. Qualities judged at a dog show include appearance, movement, structure and temperament.
    If a dog is selected as the best male, best female or best of breed then the dog is given points. These points can be accumulated at each dog show and when a dog reaches 100 points it is given the title of a champion.

    Why are RoyaltyChi puppies on limited register?
    There are two types of pedigree papers, limited register and main register. Main register is used for dog breeders and has no restrictions. Limited register is used for pet owners and means your dog can not be bred with.
    RoyaltyChi Chihuahua puppies are sold on limited register, for the following reasons:
  • Chihuahuas are very difficult to breed with and breeding Chihuahuas is not for the novice. Difficulties can include eclampsia, hypoglycemia, emergency caesarians, expensive vet bills, still borns and the worst is the death of the bitch - all of these are scenarios which are unfortunately not uncommon. We will not sell our puppies on main register and all of our puppies have a strict desexing contract that is not negotiable, the reason for this is we feel the burden of breeding Chihuahuas should be left to the experts as it can be heartbreaking and can result in absolute devastation. Even if the research, mating, pregnancy, birth and raising of the puppies goes to plan it still means great financial expense and constant 24 hour supervision with no sleep.
  • To have a litter with no health problems in the puppies from birth to adult hood will mean a great deal of knowledge and research into the background of the breeding pair, this can sometimes take years to find the correct match for a breeding pair. Ancestry research is also necessary to ensure the litter will be the absolute best representation of the breed (you want the puppy to grow up looking like a Chihuahua).
  • To buy a Chihuahua puppy from a registered breeder means you will not have to go through any difficulties and expense of breeding and raising a litter and will be able to take your puppy home after all the hard work is already done - this is the easiest way to have a Chihuahua puppy.

    Why buy a pure breed dog from a registered breeder?
  • Pure-bred dogs are the result of many years of selective breeding.
  • When you buy a pure-bred puppy you will know what to expect in the adult dog, as the size, temperament, appearance and characteristics are predictable.
  • When considering a pure-bred dog, it is possible to narrow down the choices to those with attributes which most clearly fit into your personal lifestyle and interests.
  • Registered breeders will answer your questions and share their experiences and knowledge with you. They can provide background on the breed and discuss the characteristics of the adult dog.
  • You will receive a documented history of the puppy and you will be able to see one or both parents or other family members.
  • New owners can participate in a variety of activities and events with their dogs e.g. dogs shows, obedience, agility.
  • Registered breeders have experience to give puppies the care and nurturing they need at critical early stages. This not only ensures you’ll have a healthy puppy, but that the puppy is much less likely to develop into a difficult adult. Breeders will guide you in proper care and feeding, health issues and training. Breeders are there to help you and will continue to provide information and support as your puppy grows.
  • Registered breeders are bound by a code of ethics enforced by the canine association in their state.
  • RoyaltyChi Chihuahuas are members of MDBA and follow a very high standard for breeding for excellence.

    Happy New Owners

     A letter from owners of a RoyaltyChi Puppy:
    Hi Terri & Stephan,

    We thought you might appreciate some pictures of RoyaltyChi The Emporess, who has become a really delightful addition to our family. She's very loyal, has a bright personality and a wonderfully inquisitive nature, she can sit and watch something new for ages, and loves being part of anything we're doing. She's also happy to just sleep at my feet when I'm painting in my studio, and has charmed everyone in Colin's office, where she visited one week while I was away.
    We have a dog-friendly yard where she likes playing on the lawn, chasing toys and leaves etc or sunning herself. She's a beautiful puppy and we call her Farasa, which is Arabic for butterfly. She has very good manners and sits down for food and treats, and is learning the 'stay' command for when we cross the road during walks to the shops or the dog park.

    We're thrilled to have our little Emporess, and we always tell people who compliment us that she came from RoyaltyChi in Perth. If her siblings are as gorgeous, I'm sure you'll have great success when showing them in future.
